Gary Adamson LLB (Hons)
Gary qualified in June 2008 and joined the firm in October 2011. He works in the Civil Litigation department. Gary has over 15 years pre and post qualification experience which allows him to provide advice in a number of areas relating to dispute resolution, particularly within the areas of Property, Contentious Probate, including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and challenges to the validity of Wills, trusts of land and contractual disputes. Gary moved to the East Midlands from London in 2006 in order to commence his training contract with a major East Midlands practice.

Layla Babadi LL.BLayla was born and raised in South Shields, Tyne & Wear. After obtaining a 2.1 on the LL.B (Hons) at Sheffield Hallam University, Layla went on to study and obtained a commendation on the Legal Practice Course at Northumbria University.

Layla was admitted to the roll of Solicitors on 1st December 2005 and joined the Family Law Department of the firm in Spring 2007 undertaking all aspects of family law with a particular emphasis on divorce, financial issues following separation and representation in Ancillary Relief Proceedings.

Vanessa Green
Vanessa is our longest serving member of staff. She has been with the Firm for over 20 years. Having had experience of various departments she is now employed as our Practice Manager looking after the non - legal side of the business with particular responsibilities for finance, administration and personnel.
 
 

Daljit Johal LLB (Hons) LL.M
Daljit qualified as a Solicitor in June 2011. She has been employed within the Family Department since joining us in April 2007. Daljit completed her undergraduate degree in Law at the University of Derby and then went on to complete a Masters degree in Commercial Law, finally completing the Legal Practice Course at Staffordshire University.

Daljit works across all areas with Family Law including public child care law. Her caseload consists of private and publicly funded divorce and ancillary relief matters, Children act disputes, Co-Habitation disputes and Non-Molestation/Occupation Order matters, she also speaks Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.

Victoria Leadlay F.ILEX
Victoria qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in May 2010 whilst working within our ever growing Family Department. This enabled her to study within an area of which she has many years of practical experience.
Victoria’s caseload consists of both private and publicly funded matters ranging across Divorce, Ancillary relief cases to Children Act and Domestic Violence matters. In more recent times Victoria has also been practising within our private Client department preparing and drafting Wills.

Julie StewartJulie joined the conveyancing team at Bemrose & Ling in May 2004 following a period of 20 years spent working at a law firm in Ashby de la Zouch. Julie has gained immense practical knowledge of conveyancing and the associated law procedure and is currently working her way through a series of exams in order to become a licensed conveyancer Her caseload comprises residential conveyancing including sales, purchases and re-mortgages.

Harpreet Talwar LL.B
Harpreet is a qualified Solicitor within our Wills and Probate Department. She was admitted on The Roll of Solicitors on 1st October 2007 and has gained a breadth of experience in non-contentious areas of the law. She trained with a law firm in Birmingham and joined Bemrose & Ling in 2011. She is currently studying the STEP Diploma (Society for Trusts and Estate Practitioners) to become a recognized specialist in the areas of wills, trusts and probate.

Isabel Wightman LLB (Hons) LLM
After obtaining a 2:1 on the LLB (Honours) at the University of Leeds Isabel went on to achieve a merit on the Corporate and Commercial Law LLM at UCL Isabel completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, York. Isabel was admitted to the roll of solicitors on 15 October 2003. She joined the firm in October 2011 having previously worked at a national firm in Leeds.
Isabel undertakes all aspects of commercial property work including sales and acquisitions, landlord and tenant, development and refinancing. She has experience of a wide range of property types and value. Isabel also undertakes the sale and purchase of businesses and general commercial work.
